Judges’ Arrest Saraki condemns DSS’ unlawful method of arresting Justices

Senate President, Bukola Saraki has spoken out on the arrest of judges by the Department of State Services (DSS) calling it unlawful.

The judges were arrested between Friday, October 7, and Saturday, October 8, in various states of the country.
Saraki made his comments during the Senate’s plenary session on Tuesday, October 11.

Any anti-corruption action that goes against the rule of law does not help the fight against corruption,” it added.
Meanwhile, the DSS earlier announced that it had recovered about $800,000 from three judges during the raid.
The judges involved are: Sylvester Ngwuta andInyang Okoro of the Supreme Court; Mohammed Tsamiya of the Appeal Court; Adeniyi Ademolaand Muazu Pindiga of the Federal High Court;Innocent Umezulike who is the Chief Judge of Enugu State and Kabir Auta of the Kano State High Court.
The accused persons have been released by the DSS on bail.
