Telecomms Company, Etisalat is really working on its commitment towards sustainable development through education by awarding grants to over 120 Nigerian university undergraduates with its Merit Awards initiative with the aim of rewarding and encouraging academic excellence amongst Nigerian undergraduates.

The Award celebrates Nigerian university students with the highest CGPA in the departments of Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science and Management Sciences. There are also two special categories – the Indigenes’ award for the best performing students from the respective universities’ locations, and a newly introduced award for most academically excellent students with physical challenges.

The first phase of the awards took place recently when the grants were awarded to undergraduates from the University of Lagos; Federal University of Technology, Akure; University of Ibadan and Ambrose Alli University at tehe regional presentation ceremony of the 2016 Etisalat Merit Awards in Ibadan.
